nsrR (nitrite-sensitive transcription repressor)
This part contains the NsrR (nitrite-sensitive transcription repressor) encoding region from Nitrosomonas europaea (ATCC 19718). This part is related with BBa_K248002, the promoter region of the NirK protein, because nsrR activates the transcription of NirK under high nitrite conditions. Due to this property, we can use this pair of parts as a sensor of nitrite in the medium.
IMPROVEMENT:
- Group: iGEM Peshawar 2016
- Author: Faisal
- Summary:This part contains illegal sites that make it incompatible with all assembly standards (RFC 10,RFC 12,RFC 21, RFC 23,RFC 25,RFC 1000) and has not been submitted to the Registry. The 2016 Peshawar team removed these illegal sites, codon optimized this sequence for expression in E.coli and for synthesis, synthesized and uploaded the new improved part K2056001 to the Registry.
